The aim was to evaluate three types of substrates and three pre-germinative treatments for the propagation of capuli (Prunus serotina ssp capuli Cav) applying three pre-germinative treatments, using a randomized complete block design (RCBD) with factorial structure, with nine treatments and five replications. The Infostat software was used for the analysis. The pre-germinative treatments used were: Ga: Immersion of seeds in cold water for 24 hours Gb: Immersion of seeds in cold water for 6 days Gc: Immersion of seeds in hot water between 80 to 90°C and then 2 weeks of cold stratification at 5 °C and substrates S1= River sand (25%) + Black soil (75%) S2= Black soil (50%) + rice husk (25%) + Compost (25%) and S3= River sand (25%) + rice husk (25%) + black soil (50%). The germination percentage and seedling development variables were evaluated: height, diameter at collar height, number of leaves at 30 and 60 days. According to the results of the percentage of emergence taken at 30 and 60 days, it was concluded that the best treatment was T1 River sand (25%) + black soil (75%); water (24 hours), therefore there is no significance between treatments. For the variables evaluated in the development of seedlings at 60 days, it was concluded that the best treatment was T5 Black soil (50%) + rice husk (25%) + Compost (25%) (soaking in cold water for 6 days), since good results were obtained: DAC (0.66 mm), height (12.34 cm) and number of leaves (7.86 leaves). For the sexual propagation of capuli it is recommended to use river sand (25%) + black soil (75%); water (24 hours) for a good germination in forest nurseries.
