dc.description.abstract | The objective of this research work was to implement a equipment against forest fires to the
community San Juan located in Chimborazo province, through the repowering of a rototiller YTO
DF-15L model. It belongs to Ministerio de Agricultura y Ganadería (MAG) of this province, in
order to provide operation to several rototiller which are in a state of unavailability due to lack of
operation and maintenance. The research work development was based on an investigative,
analytical methodology and design cycle. In the first part of the methodology, a preliminary study
of the operation and technical characteristics of the rototiller was carried out, which made it
possible to establish the feasibility of repowering the rototiller as a equipment of first response
against forest fires. In the second part of the methodology, an analysis of the current state of the
rototiller was perfomed, thus knowing what maintenance activities will be carried out on the
equipment to improve availability, reliability and safety. In the third part of the methodology,
through the improvement maintenance, the mechanical design was carried out using SolidWorks
software, which designed the trailer and pumping system to establish it as a first response
equipment against forest fires. It was coupled to the rototiller allowing the construction by
selecting materials, equipment and accessories of high reliability for the development of the
project. It is concluded that the implementation of the equipment against forest fires through the
repowering of the rototiller. It allows to protect the security of the forest and agricultural sector
of the community. In addition it improves the maneuverability of the equipment and safeguard
the safety of the operator through improvements made to the original design. The study of
applications for rototillers is recommended which allow to benefit the communities of the
Chimborazo province as well as society in general. | |
