dc.description.abstractFor the study of the method of analysis and advanced diagnosis of the internal combustion engine, a PicoScope 4225 oscilloscope and a PicoScope WPS500X pressure transducer were used, through which specific oscillograms of each vehicle were obtained to compare with signals already established in "Pressure Waveform". Acquisition & Analysis”; complementing with the exhaust gas analysis, where the valve opening and closing angles were measured. By the method of acquisition and analysis of data gotten by a single measuring instrument, it provided live data of each process, giving a complete 4-stroke cycle that an engine normally generates. In Ecuador this method is not carried out, despite the easy access to equipment and information to be applied; with which preliminary checks would be carried out that admit the correct analysis of the function of some specific part that makes up the engine. In conclusion, the analysis and advanced diagnosis of the internal combustion engine by means of electrical oscillograms of pressure and emissions analysis, determined the behavior patterns of electrical signals, the reference values of the exhaust gas analysis of certain brands were standardized, it was verified that the patterns of the electrical signals obtained from vehicles with mechanical failures agree with the pertinent repairs and finally fast, safe, reliable and, above all, quality diagnoses were established. It is recommended that automotive workshops in Ecuador equip themselves with technology tools and equipment and apply this method of analysis and advanced diagnosis of the internal combustion engine that is fast, safe and of quality over the disassembly method; to deliver the cars in optimal conditions, improve service by saving time and money and efficiently satisfying the customer.
