dc.description.abstractThe present study was carried out with the objective of evaluating the effect of two pre-germinative treatments with two substrates on the sexual propagation of (Parkia multijuga Benth) GUARANGO in the nursery of CorpoSucumbíos of the Provincial Council of Sucumbíos. A completely randomized design was developed with Infostat, three replications, two substrates; the variables were measured at 15, 30, 45 and 60 days, the seeds were scarified to accelerate the emergence process with pre-germinative treatments of 8 and 12 hours, except for the control, The trial consisted of 20 subsamples, obtaining a total of 180 experimental units. The economic estimation was made using the Partial Budget Calculation described by PERRIN and collaborators of CIMMYT (1988). The best treatment was Pa (immersion in water for 8 hours) with 83.03 % survival, in contrast to the treatments that showed higher mortality, seed rot and lower development. The A2B1 substrate (immersion of the seed in water for 12 hours in a substrate composed of 25% black soil + 50% sand + 25% rice bark), economically presents a high marginal rate of return of 534.17.61%, with a Net Benefit of USD 8.12 with a Variable Cost of USD $7.18. It was concluded that, the Pa treatment and the A2B1 substrate showed high feasibility rates so it is recommended to carry out trials with the 8-hour pre-germinative treatment, use agro-industrial waste substrates, disinfect the seeds and use Tetrazolium at 1% to guarantee the production of overexploited species.
