The main objective of this research study was to determine the relationship between aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase (ASAT/ALAT) as a diagnostic method for hepatic alterations in taxi drivers of the city of Riobamba. For this purpose a sample population of 210 members belonging to three taxi cooperatives of the city, for which a survey was applied, and validated by different health professionals. Through the inclusion and exclusion criteria provided by the surveys carried out a sample of 93 male drivers was obtained, who underwent the respective sampling with the necessary materials and care. They were later transported to suitable conditions for storage and stability and were analyzed with a spectrophotometer to obtain the results in the clinical analysis laboratory of the Escuela Superior Politécnica de Chimborazo. Finally, the delivery and socialization of results to the different taxi drivers, along with the recommendations to have a better quality of life and avoid liver problems in the future. Thus, promoting preventive medicine. The results of the Ritis coefficient (RC) show that 3.2% of drivers are at risk of viral liver damage (RC less than 1), while 2.2% are at risk of liver fibrosis (RC greater than 1) resulting in an indication for the development of more Chronicles liver diseases. It was also shown, through statistical analysis, that there is a correlation between the frequency of physical exercise, the family clinical record of liver disorders, and attendance at restaurants, which increase the chances of the development of liver diseases. Further analysis is recommended of samples that measure the real hepatic condition of the taxi drivers of the city.
