dc.description.abstractThe objective of this research work was to conduct a market study in Riobamba canton for the implementation of a sports tourism complex, so for its development the documentary technique was applied, which consists of gathering information from primary sources from Chimborazo Sports Federation, sports schools, formative sports clubs and specialized sports clubs that are located within the canton and province, and also are pioneers and unique in the country. Therefore with the current offer and with the sports services that are not offered, the field research and collection of information in situ was done through direct observation in the same establishments where we apply surveys to elite and amateur athletes, distributing the surveys by discipline; (Wushu, Voleyball, Triathlon, Table Tennis, Taekwondo, Squash, Skating, Swimming, Chess, Boxing, Cycling, Sport Climbing, Judo,Karate, Olympic wrestling). On the other hand, the respondents stated that the additional services should be offered by the complex are: transportation 18%, nursering service 16%, and parking 14%. Some sports facilities such as: swimming pool (15%), velodrome (10%), a squash and a climbing wall with 8%. It was determined that the market is shared through social networks such as Instagram (20%), Facebook (18%) and tiktok (18%). To Sum, it is concluded that 99% of sportsmen and women agree with the implementation of a sports tourism complex in Riobamba city and 1% do not. It is recommended that a sports tourism complex be implemented in Riobamba city which includes most of sports disciplines.
