dc.description.abstractAt the Aña Moyocancha Experimental Station, located in the Tixán Canton Alausí, Chimborazo Province, was studied the effect of two factors: factor A consisted of the supply of parenteral trace elements and factor B were represented by three intervals of seminal extraction (2, 4, 6 days) in male alpacas of the Huacaya and compared with a control treatment, under a Completely Random Design with a bi-factorial arrangement and two repetitions. The results were analyzed with the statistical program SAS, the best results were (P ≤ 0, 01) to provide trace elements such as the volume of ejaculate (1, 95 ml), sperm concentration (61, 67 1X106 Spz / ml), motility mass (81, 25%), individual motility (4, 63 pts), sperm vitality (71, 25 %), total abnormalities (4.53 %). The best frequency and interval of extraction was 6 days (P ≤ 0.1), obtaining a greater volume of ejaculate (1,95 ml), sperm concentration (119,22 X106 Spz / Ejaculate), mass motility (81,25 %) ), in addition the use of trace elements and extraction intervals at (6 days) improves sensory characteristics such as color, smell and appearance also inferring that the activity of spermatogenesis and sperm production was stimulated, influencing the larger diameter and smaller testicles, another aspect was that the application of trace elements reduces sperm abnormality. Therefore, it is recommended to use trace elements and 6 days of extraction interval in male alpacas during the reproductive stage, because in the present investigation the best results were obtained.
