This technical project proposes the construction of a prototype of a robotic system for the dispensing of pharmaceutical products using artificial vision and wireless communication in order to technify the process. The starting point was a bibliographic review to investigate existing systems for the intelligent dispensing of products in commercial premises, conceptualizing topics such as artificial vision, wireless communication, process automation and robotics. Subsequently, the modeling and analysis of elements to be used in the prototype was carried out using SolidWorks CAD tool. The appropriate software was defined for the implementation of a computer application, the inventory management of the pharmacy products and the coding of an artificial vision algorithm, which was used to identify the products by reading the product's own code. The appropriate wireless communication interface was selected to communicate the computer application with the robotic systems and manage control signals for them. In conclusion, the construction of the prototype of the robotic system for the dispatch of low weight pharmaceutical products using artificial vision and wireless communication was achieved, which after its operation tests showed satisfactory results since the maximum time to place an order is 104.35 seconds for the farthest shelf and the minimum time used for the prototype is 36.14 seconds to the nearest shelf. Likewise, it was possible to link the artificial vision system to manage the inventory. It is recommended to use the prototype with a clear environment, because the transport system needs to detect infrared signals to operate and comply with the programmed translation sequence, the technical project can be optimized in future work in order to generate research in the technological advancement of intelligent robotic systems.
