Uso de la tintura orgánica en la curtición de pieles en la provincia de Chimborazo.

Abstract

The objective was to evaluate the use of organic dyeing in leather tanning carried out in the province of Chimborazo. Different virtual platforms, scientific articles, research results were analyzed to know the viability of the dyeing with organic products such as tara plant, amaranth, organic coloring and others in order to provide the leather with a deep, homogeneous, and very attractive dyeing in the eyes of consumers. The results indicated that the use of different levels of guarango produce a viable and very favorable tanning since the leathers determined a very attractive homogeneous dyeing due to the intensity of the colors. The best tensile strength (2861.42N / cm2) was achieved when tanning with guarango, while the lastometry (11.23 mm) was obtained when tanning with tara; while the best elongation (76.56%) provides the leathers tanned with synthetic tannin, each exceeding the quality requirements established in each of the technical standards. The sensory evaluation reported the highest scores in the leathers dyed with organic products, since the color intensity scores were 4.57 points and the writing effect was 4.71 points. The economic evaluation determined that the highest profit was in the batch of leathers dyed with organic dye since the cost-benefit ratio was 1.25, that is, a profit of 25%, which is very encouraging, especially because they can consider ecological leathers, Therefore, it is recommended to use amaranth for organic skins dyeing in the province of Chimborazo.
