The purpose of the research project was to evaluate the Water Footprint of Cebadas river micro water shed, the one which is framed in its management strengthening as well as the communitarian policy as a management instrument to evaluate the amount of water required in any good or service. The evaluation was based on four stages and three footprint indicators determined by colors (green, blue and gray), these are proposed by the Methodological Guide for the Water Footprint Evaluation in a Hydrographic Basin (IICA). In addition, three areas of the watershed were selected to obtain meteorological information using Power Nasa Software and physicochemical parameters obtained from bibliographic information. In order to quantify the water footprint, Croptwat 8.0 and Climwat 2.0 Software were used, these allowed obtaining information for its further calculation. The values determining the use and consumption of water through this indicator were: the green Water Footprint reflected a value of 126,513.42 (m3 / year), the gray Water Footprint 3'510,671.26 (m3 / year) and the blue water footprint 4,793,238.41 (m3 / year); This evaluation determined that the predominant Water Footprint in Cebadas river micro water shed is the blue one with 57%, it means that the amount of water used by each sector is higher compared with the other footprints. From this quantification, it was established that that the micro water shed is sustainable in terms of water management, use and availability. Based on this analysis, it is recommended for the Decentralized Autonomous Government of Cebadas Parish, to carry out the water resource, waste and soil management strategies to take advantage of the micro watershed current status in a sustainable way in order to improve the quality of life of the inhabitants and environment as well.
