dc.description.abstractThe present graduate research project was based on the automation of the process of calculating reliability indicators in equipment using Microsoft Excel, for the development of the software tool a study of the art focused on the concepts, formulas and graphics that allowed to define the methodologies in charge of facilitating the calculation of reliability, availability and maintainability considering the investigated UNE-EN 13460 and UNE-EN 15341 standards. The software tool was developed by means of programming through the Visual Basic programming language and the macros tool found within the Microsoft Excel environment, which allow the development of a user-friendly interface and the addition of processes that generate values and tables according to the methodology that the user decides to implement. To use the software tool is required to enter a series of values whose characteristics are code, time between failures and repair time additionally a probability is inserted for the calculation, while to calculate the reliability works with a selection of functions such as exponential, normal, lognormal, Weibull and gamma for which it is required to insert data in code and time between failures. To validate the software tool, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov goodness-of-fit test was applied, where random data were selected for each function; it was concluded that the software tool performed the calculations as established, obtaining the values corresponding to each function whose data were defined. For future improvements, it is recommended to investigate other goodness-of-fit tests to be added to the software tool.
