dc.description.abstract | In the branch of Mechanical Engineering, the need to design and build machines that improve and help solve problems is very frequent, as in this case, it is the sheet metal bending machine, in order to reduce costs and time when contracting additional services. In recent years it has been seen how the country has been growing in the industry where they require services such as forming to bend sheets up to 12 mm thick. An integrated methodology was proposed to find the best alternative solution, which consists of 4 stages, in each of them with several activities where methods were used for their solution, which are: previous studies, a field study was carried out, methods for rolling steel sheets. Design of concept, a specification of requirements based on the QFD matrix, functional analysis, selection of the best alternative, a study of components. Design materialization, formulas were used for the dimension of the main components of the machine and selection of the elements. Detailed design, the necessary documents for the manufacture are presented, such as part drawings, calculation memories, for carbon steel A36 and A307, the respective calculations were made, with the purpose of working with the greatest force, since it is exposed to applications with less mechanical properties. Finally, as a result of the evaluation, it was possible to build the bending machine complying with the respective expectations and parameters that are within the design, which was evaluated by an ANSYS analysis, since it is a pure bending process, since the plastic deformation occurs due to the application of bending moments, resulting in the bending process has the ability to bend up to 12 mm thick. Concluding that with the implementation of a mechanical transmission system, it was possible to reduce the physical effort of the operator and the operation time of the same and an adequate maintenance of the machine is recommended. | |
