Estudio de percepción de los servicios ecosistémicos de la Reserva de Producción de Fauna Chimborazo.

Abstract

This research proposes: determine the perception of ecosystem services of the Fauna Production Reserve Chimborazo; for which an identification and assessment matrix proposed by (Burkhard et al, 2009) was used with the first group analyzed, the survey technique was applied for the second and third group, and finally a statistical analysis of the data obtained was carried out. Resulting that the experts evaluated the services in the following way: Provisioning services with 219 points, Regulation with 354 points, Cultural with 410 points and Support with 223 points; the sample size of the inhabitants was 134 respondents, of which 39% identified Provisioning Services, 23% Regulation Services, 21% Cultural Services and 17% Support Services, On the other hand tourists identified the services as follows: Provisioning 44% Regulation 18%, Cultural 26% and Support 13%; and finally the statistical analyzes (Chi-square test) determined that the perception that the inhabitants have about these services does not depend on their town, but in contrast to that the appreciation they have about the provisioning services does depend on their native town only in the case of national tourists their perception of ecosystem services depends on their origin. It is concluded that all the population groups analyzed identified the Procurement Services as the most relevant and abundant within the territory of the Chimborazo Fauna Production Reserve Chimborazo.
