In the present study, the activity concentration of Ra-226, Th-232 and K-40 was determined in samples of three brands of GU type hydraulic cement, collected in the city of Cuenca - Ecuador, using gamma spectrometry. The radiological risk to which people are exposed was evaluated, showing that the cement samples exceed the maximum permissible limits of the studied magnitudes with the exception of the equivalent radium.
