In Ecuador there are a number of sectors that do not have electricity service, because they are located in areas with difficult access and environmentally protected areas. In Guayaquil we find one of these sectors on the shores of the Gulf of Guayaquil; In the Masa 2 commune belonging to the rural Puna parish, we find several homes that are self-sustaining from the electricity service through internal combustion generators serving small 120V loads in a time of 4 hours a day for lighting at night.
