One of the most influential factors in the INMEDEC company is productivity, for this reason one of its links in the production chain was analyzed and it was determined that the cutting processes can be optimized to reduce manufacturing time. In the present project it is proposed to implement a computerized numerical control to an existing manual plasma cutter in the INMEDEC company to improve the precision and the cutting finishes, in turn the machine prevents the operator from accidents due to different cutting tools. To achieve this objective, the different necessary mechanical components were designed and simulated in order to make a correct selection of materials taking into account the safety factor. The essential electrical and electronic elements for the control and power circuits with their proper electrical protection were determined. Another way, controllers with easy interaction with the operator were investigated and it was determined that the Mach 3 software handles a very friendly interface with the operator since it uses a G code programming language. It was established that the CNC cutting machine has good precision in the cut, this was achieved with the correct alignment of the movement mechanisms both in the X axis and in the Y axis, the gaps were also reduced by making new calculations and the tests of calibration.
