This article is focused on a very important part of electrical power systems, such as grounding systems. The present project is oriented to the analysis and the comparisons of the voltage distributions in the different rectangular and circular configurations of grounding meshes according to IEE-80 Standard. These values are obtained by the implementation of an electrolytic tank and also by the measurements made to a real grounding system (SPT). The values obtained from these two methods will be analyzed and compared with the results of the ETAP program, which is used for the design and analysis of the SPT The objectives of this article are to determine which configuration of mesh is the one that presents greater security in the systems of grounding. And demonstrate that the electrolytic tank is a viable method to perform measurements in SPT.
