This research assesses the impact of educational material on cognitive, emotional and social development in children ages seven to eleven with educational needs not associative to disability in a private institution in the centre of the City of Quito, within the confinement for the health emergency. The investigative process was conducted through a mixed methodology, using tools such as interviews and surveys to parents, and caregivers of workshop participants (which were held for three weeks in June 2020). These workshops were theoretically oriented from the perspective of Piagetian cognitive development, emotional development since the proposal of Goleman- Shapiro and social development since Erickson's psychosocial theory. In addition, we will emphasize the conditions of a pedagogical environment at home that favors development, relying on Montessori theory. Initial research results indicated that in this population the cognitive area has greater strengths unlike the field of emotional and social development, where deficiencies were visible. Based on the educational material worked, parents and/or caregivers report favorable results, in areas of difficulty, this being corroborated by the observation and listening space provided to children, within the workshops that developed online (because of the limitations on the social relationship of this pandemic).
