dc.description.abstractThe present research paper proposes a method to optimally dispatch the power delivered by generation units through the use of the interior point method and the equations related to a typical power flow. In order to prove the validity of the model, it has been tested on 9 and 14 bus IEEE systems, those systems were tested in low, medium and high demand situations; the objective function considers the minimization of the generation costs while the restrictions contemplate the operating limits of the generators and the acceptable deviation of the voltages in each bus of the system. The model presented has been implemented using Matlab while the initial conditions selected come from a common power flow in the search to improve its conditions and generation costs. The results obtained from the present investigation found that the algorithm is able to function in a variety of scenarios and systems, obtaining points in which the proposed restrictions are satisfied, in addition the algorithm obtain optimum points that improve the operating conditions of the system achieving a reduction of the power losses produced achieving also an improvement in economic settlement of the whole system.
