dc.description.abstractThe main objective of the systematization of this project is to analyze the experience: “Psychological support to improve the quality of life of hemodialysis patients of an ambulatory medical center in the city of Quito.” Patients with chronic kidney disease are affected in their style and quality of life when exposed to incurable and invasive procedures, which produce physical and psychological effects as a result of them, in addition to the constant exposure to stress, anxiety, such as the loss of their work activity, which results in the decrease of the sources of economic income for their subsistence and that of their family. Accordingly, of these problems, the need arises to offer psychological support to hemodialysis users in order to improve the quality of life, the proposal was structured based on data referred to in the GENCAT scale. Through psychoeducational-recreational workshops that cover general information topics about chronic kidney disease, hygiene, feeding. Relaxation techniques were taught to reduce stress, distress and symptoms produced in Hemodialysis.
