Salud mental y medicina prepagada: descripción de la cobertura en salud mental y atención psicológica de tres aseguradoras de salud privada del Distrito Metropolitano de Quito (D.M.Q)

Abstract

This investigation has as purpose is to make known if mental health and psychological care are considered in the offer of private health insurers. Through the quantitative approach, the coverage in mental health and psychological care offered by insurers is described. This investigation was carried out with insurers that offer services in the city of Quito-Ecuador in the year 2021. The sample was taken from 3 private health insurers with the highest growth and for the ease of obtaining information, since in the country the supply of private health security grows and the pandemic has created limitations for data collection. The result of the investigation shows that the insurers that have mental health coverage within their offers and psychological care they have limitations for access to care.
