dc.description.abstractThe school texts as a support resource for education in Ecuador date from 1873, from that year, the school texts not only multiplied in terms of number, but also in terms of content, through the approach of the problem on The influence of the school text in the teaching-learning process is intended to know in depth the structure of the text and the focus maintained in the various stages of the educational process to assess its development and recommend corrective measures. The objective of the research is to analyze the role of school texts in the “Mercedaria Patria” School by analyzing the case in the institution to understand the Learning Teaching Process and the educational performance of students within the classrooms. The method used is analytical-synthetic and the descriptive method, through interview and observation techniques through files. Among one of the findings is that the fulfillment of skills with performance criteria in relation to the acceptable national curriculum, so that the school text is appropriate to carry out curricular planning and establish an educational model based on national standards; it is important to mention that the curricular structure of the text differs in the aspect of the methodological strategies because it tries to broaden the objectivity in relation to those exposed in the national curriculum; This is relevant because it helps the student adapt his learning to his needs by developing creativity.
