The content of the following article is based on a study on sustainability in machining and its best alternative together with parameters of cutting technology, economy, and minimum amount of lubrication. In addition, the choice of optimal cutting parameters is specified by means of an orthogonal array (Taguchi) and ANOVA analysis. Calculation results on cutting forces, energy consumption, times among other sustainability variables are shown. 9 tests were carried out with different cutting parameters and a refrigeration condition MQLat 25 and 50 [ml·h 1 ]. In the measurement of surface quality, 3 assessments were made for each test to rule out a measurement error and thus obtain more effective values. Through the AHP-TOPSISS method and the parameters already mentioned, they are used to obtain the sustainability index, which provides us with results and shows us that, when using an MQL at 25 [ml·h-1 ], lower values are obtained in terms of the sustainability indexes, being thus the best alternative.
