dc.description.abstract | Traditional journalism uses a formal style when it comes to providing information of interest to citizens. However, this formal style has taken a turn, after new journalistic proposals have emerged from the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). These new proposals have introduced humor as a central element of journalism, which, accompanied by the rigor of journalistic research, has become popular as a contemporary trend. This phenomenon has recently been called info-entertainment. This term describes news that is both informative and at the same time entertaining, which causes it to also be critical, since it covers the news from an interpretive point of view, but always with the rigor of journalistic research. For this reason, the essence of journalism is not lost, because, infotainment uses traditional techniques such as the inverted pyramid and answers the five wh questions, which are: what? Who? When? Where?, Why?
This article makes a multimodal analysis of the program La Foca, a production of the journalistic platform GK City, in which journalism and humor are combined; in order to find the resources of multimodal discourse, used in this journalistic production and that form the hybrid genre of infotainment, in such a way that the elements of journalistic discourse in its various discursive genres (informative, interpretive and opinion) can be identified, as well as the resources that evidence this hybridization, in order to demonstrate their communicative intention. | |
