In this article, the author shows the importance of the narratives in general and of the stories of life in particular for the construction of moral knowledge. Following some of Ricoeur’s thesis, the author shows the relationship between life and narrative and the ethics nature of narratives in order to emphasize the importance of the narratives for the creation, transmission and conservation of moral knowledge. Finally, it is stressed the importance of being receptive to the narratives of the past and of the present and to give the opportunity to people to tell their own stories in order to help them to articulate successfully their own moral identities.
