The purpose of this document is to organize and document the awareness of 60 volunteer mothers of the Children International Foundation, community center 4 in the San Francisco de Huarcay neighborhood in the city of Quito. With the main objective of working on the resignification of disciplinary methods used in the upbringing of children, to prevent domestic violence and abuse continue to reproduce in a normalized manner within each of their homes. This awareness was guided by the psychoanalytic theory proposed by Alice Miller in 2001, addressing the origins of abuse and violence in the form of child rearing and education. This awareness was based on 10 workshops that addressed issues related to upbringing, education, child and interfamily abuse, violence, forms of punishment and abuse, with the support of the Theater of the Oppressed proposed by Augusto Boal in 2002. This systematization is raised from the background of physical abuse to the children of the voluntary mothers as part of a diagnosis at first, to later develop the workshops that is the core part and as a third moment the analysis of all the information collected with the purpose of reworking tools that allow modify the patterns that reproduce and perpetuate violence and physical punishment.
