This article establishes a methodology for the optimal location and dimensioning of Distributed Generation (GD) units using heuristic techniques. For this, wind and solar energy are considered as primary sources of energy for the generation of voltage in an electrical system of distribution, managing to solve variables such as voltage profile and system losses. The purpose is to find the best capacity and suitable fixed location for the GD, in order to identify the GD, it is used for the correct operation of the system in any demand scenario. Subsequently, an optimization algorithm was applied that is associated with compliance with the power balance restrictions and with compliance with the limits of the quality and efficiency variables for the minimum, means and maximum demand limitations, the implementation of theory for quality and efficiency variables. In this way, the optimization algorithm solved the problem by selecting the best bus and the capacity of the distributed generation, to install in the IEEE 13 and 34 Bus models. To this end, the objective function tries to minimize the costs associated with energy production. For these reasons, the results obtained are verified by simulation with the help of DigSilent Power Factory software. For the implementation of the optimization algorithm and description of metrics and results, the GAMS and Matlab software were used.
