Actually, companies need rules that allow them to achieve the best levels of quality around their line of business. Therefore, this research focuses on determining the current state of occupational health and safety. The theoretical foundation focuses on the most important aspects of the transcendental improvement in the management of occupational health and safety systems in order to minimize the risks to which employees are exposed daily. For the development of this explanatory research, bibliographical research was used in books, magazines, articles, websites and electronic media. Regarding the development of the field research, information was collected from collaborators of companies that apply the ISO 45001 standard in the DMQ, under a quantitative approach to determine occupational health and safety events. The results presented in this research help us to conclude that the evidence collected proves that the application of the ISO 45001 standard has caused positive effects in these companies, which allow optimal performance of their employees, minimizing daily risks or dangers within the organization.
