This article develops the optimal location of generator sets in the event of natural disasters is made considering the elements that went out of service within a medium voltage network simulated with algorithms in Matlab and DigSilent PowerFactory. It is considered as a case study a georeferenced system obtained from the Open Street Map (OSM) and analyzed through the Matlab software, which establishes the best position to connect generators taking into account the most appropriate technical parameters for their selection, re-establishing the power supply in the area considered vulnerable. Simulations of the grid in a stable state will allow determining the feasibility of connecting the generation systems to the distribution grid within the tolerable and permitted values for a medium voltage electrical grid, selecting the generating sets that represent the lowest losses in the system analyzed through a power flow. In this way, the aim is to optimally solve the deficit in electricity generation in the sector affected by an unpredictable eventuality, known as a natural disaster.
