The purpose of this article was to make the comparison of the different calculation methodologies, and estimate the method that best suits the pile load test using the ASTM D1143-81 standard. The data were obtained from preliminary studies of the site (SPT test) and trials of fundamental relationships carried out in local soils, which correspond to the province of Pichincha in the south of Quito of the neighborhood "El Garrochal". The fundamental properties of the samples taken on site were obtained, which were characterized and classified in the laboratories of the Salesian Polytechnic University; such as: SUCS classification, liquid limit (LL), plastic limit (LP), plasticity index (IP), humidity percentage (% w). Field tests such as: standard penetration test (SPT) conducted by the Salesian Polytechnic University, cone penetration test (CPT) and pile load test; carried out by the Pontifical Catholic University of Ecuador (PUCE). It should be noted that the aforementioned essays were conducted under the participation and supervision of the authors of this academic article. As a result, it was obtained that the calculation method that best approximates the results of the failure load derived from the load tests for piles cast in place is the Meyerhof and Meyerhof SPT Method, which produced a percentage of error between 6% and 35%.
