This project is based on the development of a methodology for the leveling charge of Nickel Metal Hydride batteries using HEVs, with the highest consumption in Ecuador, through the analysis on the voltage behavior of the charge and discharge curves. For this, concepts and definitions about hybrid vehicles, energy accumulators, and solid waste generated have been established. For its development, 9 cells are subjected to a deep charge in order to choose the one that is in optimal conditions and then proceed to perform 4 cyclical processes of charging and discharging of that cell. A DC battery charger (IMAX B6 v2) is used for the charging and discharging processes, each process is carried out with a current intensity of 2A, in approximately 2 hours and 25 minutes and a reconditioning of 2 hours between each process.
