dc.description.abstractIn this academic paper, the numerical modeling of piles that are subjected to pseudo-static lateral load was carried out using the MIDAS GTS NX software package. For the respective modeling a series of lateral load test from differents bibliographies was considered, where the properties of the soils which influence the response of the pile in terms of the load vs deformation curves, are compared with those obtained in the computer program. For the analysis, 3 types of soils were taken into account, which are: a.) Cohesive soils, b.) Cohesionless soils, and c.) Mixed soils (cohesive and without cohesion). To determine the deformations of the piles in the program, the following constitutive models were applied: 1.) Mohr-Coulomb constitutive model 2.) Modified Cam-Clay Model. 3.) Hardening Soil Model (small strain stiffness). Correlations were applied to determine the values of the modulus of elasticity in those soils that do not register this information and which are necessary to enter in each constitutive model.
