Diseño y construcción de una máquina mezcladora de arcilla con capacidad de 200 kilogramos/hora que se utilizará en la fabricación de artesanías, en la parroquia de La Victoria - provincia de Cotopaxi

Abstract

This project aims to design and construct a machine that homogeneously mixes the mud used in the elaboration of handicrafts at La Victoria Parish, known for its pottery around Ecuador. The artisans use their hands, from the very beginning, to elaborate these ceramic objects; part of this process is the mash process. The material is mixed with water slowly until the texture is suitable for molding. This activity is very exhausting for the artisan because they perform it with their bare feet, also it takes time to obtain the homogeneity of the mud. Analyzing the actual process, it is possible to propose a mechanical design that delivers a homogeneous mixture of the mud. Seeking a way to facilitate the work of the artisans, in La Victoria, for the mixing process, a machine is built that minimizes the effort and time invested in this activity, consequently improving the general process for the elaboration of handicrafts that come from the mud. Also, this machine is built mostly from recycled materials, thus contributing to an environmental consciousness, friendly with the environment.
