| dc.description.abstract | El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo hacer algunas reflexionar acerca del turismo sostenible tomando como muestra el Centro Histórico, de Ciudad de La Habana que si bien no es un modelo de turismo sostenible si es el comienzo de una practica positiva, que como inicio al fin, adolece aún de muchos de los elementos identificables para un desarrollo de turismo sostenible. La muestra transmite la lección de que el turismo puede proporcionar una contribución económica, social, cultural y ambiental independientemente del entorno donde se desarrolle, disminuyendo así los impactos negativos del mismo, brindando una protección continuada e imprimiendo un valor añadido al patrimonio tanto natural como cultural en las localidades donde se despliegue. En el terreno del urbanismo, la sostenibilidad se ha estudiado muy poco, aunque son muchos los planes que se consideran a sí mismos sostenibles, como si ello fuese simplemente un adjetivo, sin más compromisos. Cuando se ha abordado realmente, se ha hecho desde la corriente del ecourbanismo, son proyectos o planes donde se intenta controlar los aspectos que harían posible que nuestras ciudades fuesen más sostenibles, que hiciesen posible que ese consumo de capitales fuera menor, para poder así reducir nuestra huella ecológica.
