El vocabulario del trapiche costarricense

Abstract

Trata sobre el vocabulario utilizado en las actividades del trapiche de la región central de Costa Rica y en específico del movido por fuerza hidráulica. Se propone recoger y analizar ese material léxico, exponer la infraestructura económica del trapiche y los factores que impulsaron su casi total extinción. Esta investigación se realizó en la Provincia de Heredia y Alajuela. Incluye también metáforas basadas en la similitud de calidad o función, analogía combinativa, índice alfabético completo de léxico recogido.

This article is about the vocabulary used in the activities of the sugar mill in the central region of Costa Rica and specifically the one moved by hydraulic force. It is proposed to collect and analyze this lexical material, expose the economic infrastructure of the sugar mill and the factors that drove its almost total extinction. This research was carried out in the Province of Heredia and Alajuela. It also includes metaphors based on the similarity of quality or function, combinatorial analogy, complete alphabetical index of the lexicon collected.
