Con el fin de contribuir al conocimiento de los hábitos alimenticios y la relación hombre-animal durante el período Inca en el noroeste argentino, se realizó un estudio arqueozoológico del material proveniente del sitio Potrero-Chaquiago, provincia de Catamarca. Aparte del rol que jugó la ganadería de camélidos, se hizo hincapié sobre la fauna llamada “menor”, es decir aves, carnívoros, edentados, roedores, anfibios y reptiles; especies frecuentemente “ignoradas” en este tipo de investigaciones. A zooarchaeological study of the material from the Potrero-Chaquiago site (province of Catamarca) was carried out, with the purpose of contributing to the knowledge of the alimentary habits and the man-animal relationship during the Inca period in the Argentine Northwest. Apart from studying of birds, carnivores, edentates, rodents, amphibians, and reptiles, frequently “ignored” in this type of investigation. Sociedad Argentina de Antropología
