Since government actions at all levels began in relation to the COVID-19 pandemic in Argentina, the State, the market and NGOs have been targeted at the poorest and most impoverished sectors of the country. Based on the analysis and interpretation of various records of the mass media and official documents, this article systematizes various difficulties around hunger, with the aim of opening a critical discussion on them from the perspective of sociologies of bodies/emotions. The expository strategy will be as follows: a) the theoretical starting point of the connection between hunger, the body and emotions is synthesized, b) the situation of poverty and pre-pandemic hunger in Argentina is outlined, c) some of the multiple emotions of the intervention are characterized and d) some interpretations of the interventions characterized are presented.
