¿Qué melancolía, qué izquierda?: A propósito de Melancolía de izquierda de Enzo Traverso

Abstract

El texto confronta la reivindicación, por parte de Enzo Traverso, de la productividad delo que este autor denomina la ?melancolía de izquierda? para una política de izquierda. Sostiene que la argumentación de Traverso supone ignorar el lazo que unió, en el siglo XX, las luchas revolucionarias con la adhesión a regímenes de dominación total de un nuevo tipo. Y que resulta incongruente unir en esa reivindicación simultáneamente a las víctimas que cayeron o fueron derrotadas en esas luchas, a quienes apoyaron la dominación criminal de los nuevos regímenes comunistas que emergieron de sus triunfos, como así también a las víctimas de estos nuevos regímenes de dominación total.

The paper opposes the idea developed by Enzo Traverso in his Left-Wing Melancholy, regarding the productivity of this passion for a politics of the left. It argues that it does not seem possible to ignore the bond which linked the revolutionary struggles in the XXth Century with the allegiance to new forms of total domination by the emerging communist regimes, and with the silence of the revolutionary fighters and parties regarding this new form of oppression. And that it is inconsistent to simultaneously advocate for the victims who died or were defeated in those revolutionary struggles, for those who gave their allegiance to the criminal domination of the new communist regimes, as well as for the victims of these new regimes.
