Dimensiones del espacio: el trópico en la poesía de Vicente Gerbasi

Abstract

Algunas líneas poéticas generadas a partir de los años 40 del siglo pasado configuraron en el espacio una de las constituciones más sólidas de lo latinoamericano para distinguirse de lo europeo. En este contexto, las estrategias discursivas para renovar el discurso poético son reformular las relaciones entre poesía y artes visuales y la identificación entre espacio y sujeto poético, a partir de la formulación de paisajes espirituales. Analizamos la poética de Vicente Gerbasi a partir de Espacios cálidos (1952); allí se aprecia una fuerte ligazón entre la génesis de la poesía y la belleza del entorno natural: el espacio le permite al discurso poético ensayar la experiencia de lo trascendente exhibiendo y construyendo, a su vez, lo propio y lo latinoamericano en el paisaje

Some poetries of the 1940s considered space as one of the stronger constitutions of the Latin American culture to distinguish from the European ones. In this context, the discourse strategies to renovate the poetic discourse are renovating the relations between visual arts and poetry and the identification with the poetic subject from the formulation of spiritual landscapes. We consider Vicente Gerbasi’s poetry since Espacios cálidos (1952); there we can appreciate the relation between poetry genesis and the landscape beauty and also the presence of transcendental experiences in the poetic discourse building and showing the typical of Venezuelan culture and the Latin American culture.
