El impacto del nacionalsocialismo en el semanario Der Russlanddeutsche, 1933-1939

Abstract

La asunción de Hitler como canciller del Reich impactó de diversa manera sobre los germano-parlantes de la Argentina. Entre quienes aceptaron al nuevo orden se encontraban los redactores del semanario entrerriano Der Russlanddeutsche, dirigido a los “alemanes de Rusia”. El artículo analiza la recepción que en aquel periódico tuvo el nacionalsocialismo, desde su consolidación en el gobierno hasta las vísperas de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Centra su atención en las formas en las que el régimen de Hitler y sus políticas influyeron en la autopercepción del semanario y de sus lectores. Estudia además el modo en que aquella experiencia incidió en su relación con el resto de quienes se identificaban como alemanes y en su vinculación con distintos sectores de la vida argentina, en un momento de gran fluidez cuando aún el Tercer Reich no había tomado la dimensión del símbolo del mal absoluto.

Hitler's ascent to the chancellorship of the Reich had a diverse impact on German speakers in Argentina. Among those who accepted the new order were the editors of the Der Russlanddeutsche, a weekly newspaper from the province of Entre Ríos catering to the “Germans from Russia”. The article analyzes the reception that periodical gave to National Socialism, from its consolidation as government to the eve of the Second World War. It focuses on the ways in which Hitler's regime and its politics influenced the self-perception of the weekly and its readers. It also studies how their experience impacted on their relations with others who identified themselves as German, as well as with other sectors in Argentine life, in a moment of great fluidity, when the Third Reich had still to take its dimension as a symbol for absolute evil.
