| dc.description | En este trabajo se considera la interacción hidrofóbica en sus aspectos generales a efectos de dar los elementos necesarios como para poder analizar algunos sistemas de interés biológico y farmacéutico. Se presentan algunos elementos sobre la estructura del agua a efectos de considerar la hidratación en forma general y posteriormente la hidratación hidrofóbica en particular. Se presentan evidencias experimentales tanto termodinámicas como provenientes de métodos de relajación para luego plantear la definición de interacción hidrofóbica y algunos factores que la afectan. En trabajos subsiguientes se presentarán diversos métodos de medición de la interacción hidrofóbica y su relación con los coeficientes de partición. La caracterización de las proteínas de acuerdo a los "momentos hidrofóbicos", los métodos de predicción de hidrofobicidad, la relación con el "balance hidrofílico-hidrofóbico (HLB)" y otros aspectos de interés biológico. | |
| dc.description | In this work the general aspects of hydrophobic interaction are considered aiming at giving the necessary background to be able to analyze in the future some system of biological and pharmaceutical relevante. The concept of water structure is given to introduce hydration in general, and hydrophobic hydration in particular. The experimental evidences -both from the thermodynamics and from relaxation methods are, given to present finally the definition of hydrophobic interaction and some factors that modify it. ln following papers several methods of measurement of hydrophobic interaction will be given, as well as their relation with partition coefficient, the "hydrophobic moments" of proteins. methods to predict hydrophobicity, the relationship with the hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB) and some other aspects of biological interest. | |
