Resumen
Este trabalho investigou a atividade antiespasmódica in vitro (jejuno de rata) do extrato hidroetanólico
O extrato apresentou atividade espasmolítica, justificando o emprego popular
da espécie no tratamento de desordens gastrointestinais. The purpose of this study was to investigate the antispasmodic activity in vitro (female rat
jejunum) of the hydroethanolic extract of Piper regnellii DC (EHEPR), species known as "pariparoba". The actions
produced were compared in concentration-effect curves (CEC) for acetylcholine (ACh) and barium chloride
(BaCl2) front to EHEPR, evaluating the pharmacological variables DE50, Emáx, pD2, ρ, and the equivalent of
pA2 and pD'2. The results showed that EHEPR inhibited in a concentration-dependent way the effect of ACh and
of BaCl2, showing no-competitive antagonism, reducing the maximum effect (Emáx) of CEC obtained for ACh
and BaCl2, with larger activity against ACh. In the dosages utilized, the extract presented espasmolitic activity,
justifying the popular use of the species in the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders.
