| dc.description | Se presentan los resultados del análisis de isótopos estables (δ13C y δ15N sobre colágeno, δ13C sobre apatita) de 8 muestras óseas procedentes de Tierra del Fuego que, junto con 15 determinaciones previas, informan sobre la variación en la subsistencia de poblaciones de cazadores-recolectores. Se observa que los valores más "marítimos" se encuentran en el conjunto Sudeste de la Isla Grande. Por otra parte, los más "continentales" se encuentran en el conjunto Norte de la Isla Grande. Es interesante destacar que, sin cambiar la tendencia antes mencionada, los datos del δ15N están indicando una incidencia importante de las dietas marítimas en los tres conjuntos. La variación observada es mayor que la registrada previamente. | |
| dc.description | Results from the stable-isotope analysis of eight human bone samples from Tierra del Fuego are presented. Together with 15 previous results, they inform on subsistence variation for hunter-gatherer populations. The observed variation is larger than those previously recorded. The South-East portion of the island had the samples with the larger maritime influence. The North portion showed most terrestrial values. The δ15N data allowed us to postulate a prominent contribution of maritime proteins to the diets of individuals representing the different regions considered. The observed variation was larger than expected. | |
