| dc.description | La investigación se orientó al análisis e implementación de un prototipo de Sistema de Información Bibliográfico (SIB), pero principalmente a herramientas que se encuentran a disposición de la comunidad bajo licenciamiento GLP (General Public License), teniendo en cuenta los resultados y beneficios que se obtendrían en los ámbitos administrativo y técnico. Se planteó el siguiente interrogante: “¿Cómo el manejo de un sistema de información bibliográfico con un software libre (Koha) daría respuesta a las necesidades funcionales y de servicios en pequeñas bibliotecas?”. La respuesta se obtuvo en el momento en que se analizaron los distintos componentes de los sistemas de información y las ventajas que plantea la automatización de los procesos en los centros de información bibliográficos. En general, Koha demostró responder a las necesidades de las bibliotecas para la administración de sus fondos bibliográficos, y, de esta manera, garantizar la prestación de servicios de calidad a sus usuarios | |
| dc.description | The investigation was addressed to the analysis and implementation of a Bibliographical Information System prototype (SIB), but mainly to tools available for the public under a GLP license, having in find the benefits and consequences that could be obtained at the technical and administrative levels. The following question was set out: “How a bibliographical information system as KOHA would satisfy the functional and service needs in small libraries?” The answer was obtained through the analysis of different components in the Information Systems, and the advantages that the process automation within the Bibliographic Information Centers provides.
