dc.description |
| |
dc.description | The white pacu (cachama) (Piaractus brachypomus) is the second source of fish production in Colombia, before tilapia (hybrid) (Oreochromis sp.) and after the rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). Because it’s a native species with a high level of potential production, both intern and extern, we carried on the following histological study to determine the normal conditions of the species in different stages of development, for which different specimens were used, and were classified by ages (size and weight): embrionated eggs, larvae with yolk sack, fry (alevines) after the yolk sack is absorbed, juveniles (3-5 cm; 5-7 cm; 10 cm; 15 cm) and adults (300 grams). Later these were processed, by anesthesia and desensibilization, and then the necropsy was performed, the tissues obtained were preserved in formaldehyde (10%). The next step was the histomorfological description of the digestive tract: oral cavity, pharynx, esophagus, stomach, pyloric ceca and intestine, also the annex glands (liver and pancreas). Finally we described the gross anatomy of the digestive system (organization) as well as the tissue morphology and also the cells present in it; and also the description of the development of the digestive system of P. brachypomus. All of this to establish the normal histology of the digestive system of this specie (according the age group). | |
