The road freight transport sub-sector has a major influence on the competitiveness of exports and the country's overall movement of goods. Accordingly, this research evaluates the financial viability of factoring in the subsector by comparing scenarios that simulate the use of this tool over the 2008-2012 period. The results indicate that the use of factoring offers advantages in terms of reducing turnover, increasing cash flow and creating value for the companies studied, as well as adding value to the sub-sector.
