dc.description"In this research work we analyzed and proposed novel pumping schemes for Raman fiber lasers for further improvement of infrared optical generation. An analysis related to energy transfer mechanisms between all the signals involved and their generation threshold in different cavities was conducted. Furthermore, we demonstrated an optimized cascade RFL that eliminates the use of several Fiber Bragg Gratings. This system minimizes the cost of the insertion-loss imposed by the FBGs improving their efficiency. In addition, we demonstrated new pumping schemes of fluorozirconate optical fibers doped with thulium by using new availability of wavelengths in laser diodes. We are mainly looking for generating infrared, visible, and ultraviolet signals in more efficient, compact and inexpensive fiber laser systems.Multiple potential applications of these new laser schemes can be easily achieved in numerous research fields and disciplines, increasing benefits and reducing costs."
