The thermal sensations of users within acceptable standards, contribute to the use of green areas in urban environments, for purposes of movement and leisure. This thesis aims to evaluate these general thermal sensations of users in UFMT / Cuiabá campus in different types of floor covering and near woody vegetation. Micrometeorology measures and interviews with pedestrians were made at four points on campus for 43 consecutive days in two different seasons: hot humid (with 182 respondents) and hot dry (with 210 respondents) in 2012. During the day, the shade of the mango tree (Mangifera indica) is found under the wet bulb temperature (Tbs) Tbs average compared with the other points. The perception of thermal neutral or comfortable sensations evaluated by the Physiological Equivalent Temperature (PET), happened only at night. During the day under the shade of the mango tree, there were minors PET. Only the grass (Paspalum notatun), dry in the hot season, from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m., was in the range of 9 ° C to 18 ° C the Universal Thermal Climate Index (UTCI) corresponding to the category without heat stress. The coating gram led sensation of comfort and may become an indicator for the use of lawns more than the use of other waterproof coatings. There was a preference for stronger winds, wet in the hot season, although more wind intensity occurred in hot dry. Decision trees indicate a preference in hot humid season the local variable in both PET and UTCI indices, highlighting the mango tree in a group and grass, concrete and asphalt in another, as the hot dry season indicated the wind as the main variable, taking the site to a secondary level. The percentage of comfortable and tolerable for the researched site was very large, indicating a strong climate adaptation from users of Cuiabá.
