dc.description.abstractAt first, an overview of the problem will be presented of the carbon dioxide emissions and the global perspective concerning discussions, legislation, and emission reduction targets to be achieved. To understand the technologies involved in the theme of this monograph, the main aspects of the glass melting process will be presented as a function of physical and chemical principles, as well as structural and operational. Furthermore, the technologies that involve the reduction of carbon dioxide emissions, initially touching on the supply industries indirectly linked to the central question, as in fact, in technologies directed directly to the glass industry, comprising the primary and potential tools for all sections of the process involving glass melting, such as composition, ovens, energy matrices, and energy recovery forms.
