Resumen
Due to its brittle behavior and low tensile strength, it is common for concrete to be reinforced with other materials, such as steel. Steel fiber-reinforced concrete is a composite material that uses fibers as structural reinforcement, reducing the post-cracking brittle behavior of concrete. Authough the advantages, the material still suffers from a lack of theoretical basis and is rarely used in Brazil compared to reinforced concrete. To increase the use of steel fiber-reinforced concrete, the understanding of the normative document that assists in the design of structural elements using the material (ABNT NBR 16935:2021) is very important, as is the knowledge of the advantages of this material in relation to others. In this work, the use of steel fiber-reinforced concrete in plates on elastic foundation was analyzed and the results obtained in the design of the same structural element in steel fiber concrete reinforcementand in reinforced concrete will be compared using the criteria of standards and spreadsheets, which will be developed during the project. The project is expected to contribute to the competitiveness between steel fiber concrete reinforcement and reinforced concrete when applied in shallow foundations, since the steel fiber-reinforced concrete showed a reduction in the use of steel in plates on elastic foundation.
